Why the Name?
No, we’re not a dance troupe, or even dancing missionaries. When we first met the children in Uganda, our name became clear. Dancing is their way of playing and communicating; plus they’re the best dancers in the entire world. Although they come from next to nothing -- no material goods, little food and often no family -- still, they dance!
They would run up to us saying, "Jangu Tuzine!" Literal translation: “come, let's dance.”
We think it suits us; it’s an INVITATION. We want everyone to experience the joy that comes from loving, laughing, and dancing… the joy of getting lost in something so much bigger than ourselves. So, we hereby invite you to join us in this dance. None of us know all the right steps, so you’ll fit right in… jangu tuzine!
