With over 2.3 trillion dollars of aid given to Africa by the Western world in the last 50 years, Africa has only plummeted farther into poverty. Because of this, we know our approach to restoration needs to go beyond unique. Join us as we travel along the pothole-ridden road away from dependency, and toward freedom from this perpetuated cycle.
Come Let’s Dance programs are all inspirations that stem from our Ugandan community and our vision to empower our kids, their families, and all the people that come along with them. We are NOT building mass orphanages all over Africa — that’s been done before and from what we’ve seen is only helping the problem grow. We believe in a grassroots program – one child, one community at a time helping Uganda to a healthy, self-sustainable future.
In September 2005, our first group of friends traveled to Kampala to help support the Ugandan community with food and health. Since then we have continued to work alongside the community leaders in Nansana, Uganda, and together, are figuring out how to best help the orphans and the kids on the street or in the slums. Our efforts, programs, and ongoing outreach projects center on decreasing the amount of future orphans by full community development, getting to the root of the poverty cycle and focusing on self-sustainability.
